Ashburn author Dan Williams will discuss his new book, Tales from the Networking Community, Networking, Like Life, Is A Process Not An Event Wednesday at the Comfort Suites in Leesburg. His book highlights his journey to find a new career in the Washington, D.C.-metro area and the science of networking, instructing the reader on how to measure it based on a timeline.

Williams believes the book speaks of a trend, America moving more toward an entrepreneurial focus. These days, people are interested in networking for a variety of reasons. One of them includes the fact that people do not stay at companies their entire lifetime anymore and they must take it upon themselves to operate as a "job-market free agent," Williams writes. To do that, you must develop strong networking skills.

Williams' book discussion will take place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and networking until 7:30 p.m.
