Chapman On Substation: We’ll Make It Work

With the direction last week from the Board of Supervisors to scale back plans for the western Loudoun substation, the sheriff's office and the county's Department of Construction already are working to figure out what that new plan will look like. And there are many options available to them.

Supervisors Approve Scaled-Back Western Sheriff’s Substation

In an attempt to meet the needs of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and its promise to remain fiscally prudent in all government dealings, the Board of Supervisors authorized county staff and the sheriff's office to move forward with the much-debated Western Loudoun Sheriff's Substation, but with a smaller design and using more than $2.5 million less than originally budgeted.

Jury Grants $15M In Combs-LaFleur Civil Suit

For the second time in recent months a jury has ruled against convicted murderer Steven H. Combs-LaFleur-issuing at $15 million wrongful death verdict in the case brought by the estate of Catherine Anne Combs-LaFleur.
